Description:
Browns Canyon is the most popular whitewater boating section of the Arkansas River, attracting thousands of river runners annually. But the area also offers much to hikers and sportsmen. Above the canyon, looking west from 10,000 foot high Aspen Ridge, one can enjoy stunning views of the Sawatch Range. The steepness of the terrain and the railroad limit bicycling activity in Browns Canyon and cyclists in Salida have endorsed this Wilderness proposal.
